GridFlorida has petitioned the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to become a Regional Transmission Organization (RTO), serving the needs of Peninsular Florida. For the past several months, development activities have been focusing on concerns expressed by the Florida Public Service Commission (FPSC). On March 20, 2002 the joint applicants made a filing with the FPSC revising the form and function of GridFlorida to address perceived problems. A Technical Conference, with representatives from the FERC, FPSC and other interested registered parties, has been scheduled for September 15, 2003 in Tallahassee GridFlorida Conf 9-15-03.pdf Current information on the status of the GridFlorida docket at the FPSC is available at: On Thursday, May 27, 2004 each of Florida Power & Light Company and Florida Power Corporation made an additional loan of $400,000 to GridFlorida LLC to provide GridFlorida LLC with working capital. The action by written consent of the board of managers of GridFlorida LLC approving the Promissory Notes related to the foregoing, and the ratification of an agreement with ICF, LLC to perform a cost benefit analysis was executed on May 27, 2004 and is attached below On September 8, 2003 the FPSC issued an Order in this docket.
